Spend your summer studying engineering and math concepts in 马德里, one of Europe’s fastest growing tech hubs. 数学 and elective courses are taught in English, so no Spanish is required, although there will be plenty of opportunities to develop your Spanish language skills as you explore this cosmopolitan capital city. Take advantage of the chance to satisfy some of your degree requirements while taking in the rich culture and history that 马德里 has to offer.
的 CEA CAPA 马德里 Center’s, courses are designed to increase your understanding of the diverse history, 政治, and culture of 西班牙. 教师 uses the city as an extended classroom, allowing you to not only acquire discipline-specific knowledge, but also create intellectual links between your courses and the city.
在 马德里, you can choose standard CEA CAPA住房 or arrange your own independent housing. CEA CAPA住房 assignments are based on availability and confirmation date; we make every effort to match your housing requests, but we can’t guarantee housing preferences.

It’s your choice: take 1 工程 course, 2 工程 courses, or 1 工程 course and 1 elective course from the social studies or humanities.
工程 courses meet for 45 or 60 contact hours (3 or 4 credits), and elective courses meet for 45 contact hours (3 credits). If you choose the 1-course option, you may earn 3-4 credits (45-60 contact hours); if you choose the 2-course option, you may earn 6-7 credits (90-105 contact hours).
Elective courses typically meet daily, Monday-Friday. Active learning components required by your courses may be scheduled for Fridays.
Prior to departure, you will select your preferred courses. You will be enrolled into courses based on their availability. It is in your best interest to have multiple alternative courses approved by your home university prior to your departure in case there are changes to course availability. Please consult with your academic advisor at your home university on credit pre-approval guidelines.

塞维利亚 & 加的斯
Your time in 塞维利亚 begins at La Maestranza, an infamous bullfighting ring, followed by a visit to Reales Alcazares, a 14th century Moorish fortress. Tour La Giralda—one of the world’s largest Gothic cathedrals and (allegedly) the final resting place of Christopher Columbus—before enjoying a fabulous lunch in a restaurant set in a former Arab bathhouse. Let yourself be amazed by the incredible buildings that line 塞维利亚’s narrow streets and small plazas. Spend free time relaxing at the popular Parque de Maria Luisa and Plaza de España, complete with fountains and rowboat-filled canals. You’ll also have time to take a pleasant stroll along the banks of the Gualdalquivir River.
在沿海加的斯, Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited city, you’ll relax at Playa Victoria, considered by many to be 西班牙’s best urban beach. Spend the day enjoying the sand and sun, 观看冲浪者, and exploring 加的斯’s picturesque historic center.

Enjoy a captivating train tour to 托莱多’s most beautiful locations, narrated with tales from local legend and history. Art lovers will appreciate 托莱多 as the home of El Greco, the world-famous Renaissance artist whose most important pieces can be appreciated in the city, including his masterpiece, 的 Burial of Count of Orgaz, displayed in the small church of Santo Tomé. 托莱多 is particularly well known for its quality sword makers; many films, like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, feature swords made in 托莱多. While students are welcome to handle and photograph the swords, you’ll need to start saving early if you want to purchase one of your own, as price tags range up to $600. You’ll also have the chance to visit La Granja, an incredible royal palace and grounds just 10 km from 塞戈维亚.
